December 16

Last night I was taking to the mother on the phone when it hit me.

Next week is Christmas.

Next WEEK!

I haven’t even begun to bake, I don’t even have half of my shopping done, and to top it all off, there is no snow.

Where are you at in your preparations???

  1. I am working for two flower shops now and deliveries are CRAZY! Which it is great that work is good, but I have no time to make fudge. I need to ship stuff out, too, and that hasn’t been done. But I did manage to make hot cocoa mix this morning and get that into canisters. Tonight, I am making a bunch more things….Christmas is getting here way too quick this year!!!!

  2. It is fast approaching and……I have shopping to do. Baking to do. Christmas party planning to do.

I am hoping no one notices if I dont get it all finished in time. Especially the meal!!
With two children on special diets it throws a wrench in our traditional meal. I am really hoping Whole Foods helps me out tomorrow on that front!!

  3. HEY!! Come sit by me cause we’re definitely riding the same boat. Only thing I have accomplished is putting up the tree. I will do my shopping this Friday night and Saturday. I may make candy and cakes on Saturday night and Sunday. I will have all the gifts to wrap and Santa toys to put together. I’m making dinner for the family on Christmas Eve and haven’t even thought about the menu other than to say we’ll have turkey and ham. But ya know what … I don’t really care that I haven’t accomplished much of anything and that Christmas is next week. What I do care about is that I remember the reason for the season and I’ve been able to share that with my daughter and my grandsons and for the first time in probably 20 years I’ve got to cuddle up and enjoy the Christmas shows on TV and enjoy just being rather than being worn out.
Merry Christmas to you Chocolatechic and to your family!!

  4. I’m just behind as always! I’m waiting and hoping for a nice Christmas bonus at work so I can get finished with my shopping!

Every year I tell myself I’m NOT going to put it off until the last minute, I’m going to shop early and through out the year – IT NEVER HAPPENS! LOL

UGH…. Good luck with your to-do list!

  5. I am no where near ready. And then -30 weather, frozen water pumps and sewer lines and flat tire on the van hit this week, so no going to town to get anything done on the shopping list. Thank goodness tomorrow will be a lot warmer.

  6. Need to
go to the post office today to mail the last of the extended family gifts,
    Need to do Christmas cards…whoops:p
Need to cook/bake for two Christmas parties
Need to finish shopping for my family
That is what I have left to do. It sounds like I am a procrastinator, and I am, but part of it is Hubby told me to wait to buy presents until this last payday.
So now I need to get to it =)
My nephew, stationed in Iraq, messaged me that he got his care package with homemade Christmas cookies yesterday so that is one thing I did right.

  7. I cannot believe how quickly December has flown by either… I have baking, (and shopping and wrapping/mailing) to do too and not nearly enough time!

Best of luck to you! And a Merry Christmas too!

  8. Well, after the financially devastating year we had – we’re lucky to have a roof over our heads! We *barely* have enough money for food. We are seriously behind on bills.

Christmas just ain’t happening at our house.

We will celebrate in every way possible – there just will be no gifts.

    It could be worse.

Plus – lots less stress! πŸ™‚

  9. No snow here either. My shopping is done and wrapped and I only bake one item which needs to be baked closer to Christmas. I’m feeling OKabout where I am–oh oh the house still needs to be cleaned!

    1. Oh, and thanks to your reminder, a few days ago, I got the cards out on Monday. It really is becuase of your reminder that I remembered to start and finish those cards. I only send about 24 or so mostly to family and friends who are out-of-town.

  10. I was doing okay and then all of these commitments hit me. I have to do apple pie and cookies for Christmas dinner, cookies for a school party, muffins for a church function….ACK! I’m going to be using some store-bought, but that’s okay.

  11. I just sold my house on Tday. The people want in before Christmas. So Im moving Friday and driving up to Oregon to my bfs folks. There will be no Christmas this yr. They will probably make dinner but I have no time for cookie baking, no time for shopping. Took my kids and grandkids out to dinner Sunday and gave them checks. No holiday decor ……nothing. Bah humbug. Told my bf next Christmas its gonna look like my holiday boxes barfed in the house. Im going all out!

  12. Baking done, house spotless, gifts wrapped, cards sent. NOT !! Just taking one day at a time. Trying to just spend time with my loved ones. That is what is most important.(especially if I have peanut butter fudge to offer them)
