Today started the first day of school for us.
Us being the girl and her friend the Drama Queen.
DQ and the girl are good friends and now they are school mates, as I am schooling them both.
My biggest challenge? to get DQ to fall madly in love with pink.
My computer is back.
All except my photoshop. sigh.
Today is the first day of school, and the girl is
You see, she will be having someone new in class. The little neighbor girl will be doing school with us this year.
Once my computer man comes over today to fix my photoshop I will update with pictures.
Believe me, this being without pictures is driving me to the brink of insanity.
This is absolutelly AWEsome.
My friend and I were talking the other day and she had a theory.
She theorized that romance novels really only appeal to those who are young and ready for romance, those who are in a relationship that is lacking romance, or those who are divorced and looking for romance.
I theorized something slightly different.
So, y’all are going to help me do a ‘scientific’ poll.
Take Our Poll
Hey Internet! It is Friday, and I am nosy.
I was laying in bed this morning, reveling in just how comfortable my bed is, and whining to myself about how much I didn’t want to get up.
Then I began wondering…how many pillows do you sleep with? Do you match your sheets with your bedding? Do you use pillow shams? Do you use a ‘huggie’ pillow? Do you love your bed?
I heart my bed.
I heart my 2 pillows, and my huggie pillow.
I heart my matching bedding, and my matching pillow shams.
I have never been a fan of fruit cocktail.
I don’t like cherries, and canned grapes are just slimy and gross.
But about a month ago, I began craving a cake that the Mother used to make when I was little.
It is called fruit cocktail cake.
How does a person crave fruit cocktail cake when they don’t even like the stuff?
No fruit cocktail? Use a can of pears instead.
The best part of this cake is the icingy glazy stuff.
You pour it hot, over the hot cake.
And it soaks in and the cake stays moist for days.
If it lasts that long.
Fruit Cocktail Cake

¾ c. evaporated milk
1 ½ sticks butter
Boil for 2 minutes and pour over hot cake.
Hello Internet, this is Chocolatechic reporting to you live from the dining room table.
Yesterday when I went searching for that picture of the brownie buttons, I found that I had a few pictures uploaded that I hadn’t posted about.
Whoo hoo for foresight!
A couple of weeks ago, the girl and I went over to the parents house to celebrate Dad’s birthday.
After all the festivities, the Mother begged for a pedicure.
It reminded me of when Sister and I were in our teens.
Sister would ask me to paint her toe nails, and I was oh. so. willing.
Because once I started, I wouldn’t just paint her toe nails, I’d paint her entire toe.
Interestingly, Sister still loves me.
