  1. I love Olive oil. I have a wonderful dressing I make with EVOO. Our nutritionist told us we should have at least 3 Tbs of Olive Oil a day. Yeah!

Butter is right next to EVOO. They are both firsts in my book. Our nutritionist told us that Margerine and any substitute is just one one molecule away from plastic as is Cool whip (But we won’t go there sometimes you just have to have it!)

  2. Butter!!!!!! Okay, olive oil for sauteeing and occasionally for dipping crunchy bread in. But, for everything else and especially for baking it’s got to be BUTTER!

  3. It depends. I like them both for different reasons.
But…butter is the number one choice.
    Enjoy your blog.

  4. I love the taste of butter (salted please) but I cook almost everything in extra light olive oil. I try to avoid margarine at ant cost unless it’s Smart Balance.Your mother’s EVOO dressing is soo good. She made it for us while she was here.

  5. It depends. The all have their uses.

Sauteeing something – butter & olive oil

    Popcorn – butter

Toast – margarine (just cuz my butter isn’t soft enough)

  6. I have discovered I can’t believe it’s not butter mediteranian blend. We like it. I always use butter in baking unless it’s muffins and then I use oil. To saute, it’s olive oil.

  7. Butter for baking
    Olive oil for sauteing
Smart Balance (margarine) for toast, baked potatoes, etc

I could never pick just one. 😀

  8. Butter for me too(“I Can’t Believe It’s not Butter” is the only margarine I can stand). Great-grandma M told us that when she was young they separated the cream, churned the butter fat for hours until it was a stiff vaseline like substance, poured it into ice water, formed it into bars(like soap) and carved designs in it for sale to their butter and egg customers.

  9. it has to be butter. nothing better…yum! olive oil is good for sauteing, but butter any day of the week.

  10. It is butter all the way. Olive oil for sauteing. I love your mom’s dressing too. When are the guys coming home? I am going to Indiana on Saturday to the Brickyard 400 with Grandma Sheri and Grandpa Larry. I will catch up on Monday when I get back.

  12. BY THE WAY:) I’m a butter lover too. I do love Olive Oil too though. I like to use it to deep condition my hair too:)
