April 29th.

I found another cool way to do the daughter’s hair. It is called a rope braid. I have seen them before, but I had never known how to do one till now.

Isn’t it lovely. See that gorgeous color of hair. I prayed for that hair. When I was pregnant for my daughter I prayed for 2 things for her. 1. her hair would be the gorgeous shade it is, and 2. well, she would be so totally embarrassed if I said what the second was, so I will respect her and not say. However, I can be bribed! heehee.gif

Today, in my quest for a lusciously green and dandelion free lawn, I went on a kill.

As you can see, my neighbor’s lawn is sprinkled with those lovely yellow flowers. So, why don’t I want them in my yard? Well…….because I am vain. I want other’s to look longingly at my lawn, like I have so many other’s.  I’m not proud of that, but there you have it!  I have also drug my son into my vanity. I should be ashamed, but I am not.

See……doesn’t my lawn look better than the neighbors? Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes, please…

Beds….we all have them.

I went to bed early last night because my favorite piece of furniture, was calling to me, actually it was screaming for me, and I just had to answer the call.  Every night when I crawl into bed, I either say out loud or think to myself with a big contented sigh “I love this bed”. The husband usually grunts in agreement, or has already succumbed to it’s powers and is snoring away.

Growing up, being the oldest, I was privileged enough to have a double bed. The sister, she got stuck with the single jobbie. When I got married, I just didn’t want to have to share all that lovely space with anyone. I was used to sleeping smack dab in the middle of the bed. Who wants to give all that up? Not me, I tell ya! So, we solved the problem by getting a King size bed. Everyone needs a King size bed. Go get one today. You’ll thank me. Really…….you will!

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

  1. I sleep on the right side of the bed. We went from a queen size bed to a double. Not so we could be closer, but because our room is so small!!!!
Would a batch of peanut butter fudge bribe the other thing you prayed for out of you? Or do I know what it is? Her hair looks so pretty.
I have a whole yard full of yellow things. They have taken over. I am starting to like the color yellow.

  2. Lovely hair 🙂

I sleep on the…uh…well, if I’m looking in my room then my side of the bed is on my right, but when I lay down its on my left…so…would left be right?lol. I know! I’ll say foot of the bed just to be different 😀

As for a bribe…I made Cinnamon Shortbread today, or how about a Jumbo 12″ Chocolate Chip Cookie?

  3. Yes, your daughter has lovely beautiful hair.
Yes, your lawn is lovely and beautiful.
Yes, your bed is lovely and beautiful.

Did I spread it a little too thick?

We have a king sized bed. I get 3/4 of the bed, hubby gets the rest. 😀 I sleep on the right side.

I do like the way you did Kirs’ hair. Very pretty.

  4. Look at Kirs’ hair! You did a wonderful job, Tanya. 😀 I’ve only tried a rope braid once, and it was lopsided and funky. And with my waves it frizzed apart quickly 🙄 I’ll have to try it again someday. Do you know that you can make a bun with a rope braid and it will look like a rose?

Lovely yard. Do you read Pluggers in the Sunday funnies? We’re Pluggers…and Pluggers know that mowed weeds look just as good as mowed grass. 😉

I sleep on the…thinking…right side of the bed. That’s changed several times over the years, but ended up that way because it was closest to the bassinet for the babies. 🙂 We have a double bed. Once, we had a King sized bed at a hotel and I felt like I was a million miles away from hubby. 😆 I think our next bed will be a queen, though. One of these days.

  5. Don’t feel bad Tanya. J misses his yard so much. He is very particular about how the yard looks and any weed that should even attempt to enter our yard dies hard and fast. I honestly thought he was going to cry when we saw how bad the yard looks now that we are renting it out. Very sad little man.

I have done the rope braid but it has been a long time. I might have to try it again. My girls love braids.

  6. I sleep on the right side of the bed, but in all honesty it depends on where the bed is placed in the room. I love my bed. It’s a queen size set that my dad bought for me when I was little. Both of our girls are begging me to get a new bedroom set so they can have mine. Sorry.

  7. I am also picky on my yard. I love a nice, freshly mowed yard! It drives my dad nutty because I prefer a *very* short yard. He likes his a nice, medium length. (which is just too long for me)

As for the bed, I have to be away from the door. (If someone breaks in, they have to go thru hubby first.) I don’t know why I’ve always felt that way. Hubby always says, “Gee, thanks!” LOL! I guess it has something to do with me feeling ‘safe’. I sleep on the right side of the bed. 🙂

  8. I love Kirs’ hair! It is a lovely color and you have it braided so beautifully!

We have lots of weeds in the backyard. I wish it were not so, but there they are!

We have a queen size bed. We have slept on a King size a few times but we felt so lost in it. I sleep on the right side of the bed…for now. That changes with every move and setup of the room.

  9. Kirs hair looks lovely… I am terrible at any kind of braiding!!
Aa far as the bed goes, I love mine too. I sleep on the right side when hubby is home and in the middle when he is not!! I too, say that when I climb into bed.. it is just so comfortable.
Now for that yard… yes if more beautiful than your neighbors!! However, I do not get rid my pretty yellow flowers because then for all these years, it would have derprived my children of bringing them in to me so very proudly!!

  10. Your daughter has lovely hair. You did a wonderful job braiding her hair. I worry that if I try that on my hair it will be lopsided – it’s almost to the length where I can’t braid it myself 😦 I don’t know if I can teach anyone here, or they’d be willing to do it for me.

I love a well manucured lawn. My parents have always had good lawns – Dad insisted – and I’ve done my share of yard work. Right now we don’t. First because the dead stuff still needs to be taken up and burned and then we need more rain and sunshine and fewer nights getting into the 30’s.

As for the bed…we’d love to have a king but there just isn’t room, unless we get rid of a lot of stuff in there. But I sleep on the right side – where else would I be the wrong side 😕 I don’t think so. Anyway, my husband insists that I sleep where I do as his side is closer to the door. 🙄 Before we married I slept on the left or right depending on which side felt the most comfortable at the time (of course I had a twin size bed then. 😆

I need more pillows, some are getting old and flat. I guess that means a trip to WM here soon.
